Client Experience
Ruth
I have been working with Kelly for a lot of years now. At first I didn't notice the results, but my commitment to the process and staying with the course of structural integration has really helped me heal and improve my awareness and experience of my body as a whole.

If I had not known Kelly and her work before, I might not have taken the risk to be a vulnerable client. This work involves a lot of trust. I was not at all sure what the work entailed. So it was a personal trust already established.

I found Kelly was very professional and committed. She followed up on what had been worked on the time before, so there was a real sequencing of the work done. It took me a long time to see and feel the results, but I am in no doubt after the last few years of consistent work that structural Integration has really helped my body to change and work better. My posture is better and my flexibility has improved.

Sometimes I notice my eyes are clearer. Sometimes I've been able to move facial muscles which have been seized up (eg smile when I have not smiled for a while). I feel taller and more upright when I leave.

I would absolutely recommend Kelly's service. She is professional, caring, considerate and generous her sharing her experience and knowledge. I would recommend her to everyone.

I'd tried everything like physiotherapy and osteopathy, but wasn't finding anything that would help feel any progress, so I was looking and my daughter came across Structural Integration about 2 years ago.
I really thought that it was something that I would like to do. I just had this feeling that that was something that was going to probably be quite helpful.
So I did a few sessions to start with and then I started the whole 12.
I decided to go with the (Structural Integration) series because when I started I was noticing the improvements and I could see changes. I just felt very confident that I found my thing that was going to help me get somewhere and make progress with my problem with my back and shoulders and the pain I was experiencing.
And I knew I wasn't really happy with my posture and not being able to do a lot of things. I just really clicked in. I felt I wanted to get stuck in and do the whole course.
I really liked the interaction.
Understanding makes me more invested in what’s going on, I can feel like it’s doing good and that’s important to me. I really liked how you explained things and what you were doing and how this is going to assist or help, and also just getting feedback how I could be helping myself afterwards.
I just really like that I’m being a part of that experience.
The sessions were like an hour and a half and they seemed to flow and at the end of the session I was thinking ‘Wow’, you know, like that was so good.
After sessions I like how I am feeling and I can feel changes happening so I’m going afterwards 'yeah it’s really good, really right'.
I had no hesitation about investing in doing this because I felt I was getting so much more in return as a result of the sessions we are having. I felt it was value. Great value for my money.
I was getting so much out of the sessions you know like in terms of all the physical work you were doing but also just within myself. I just am so impressed, I’ve loved every minute of coming along and sort of engaging with you and what you’ve done to help me improve my circumstances.
Where I was at and feeling, I was feeling quite down you know, and wondering, am I going to get somewhere and make a difference in terms of my posture? And that has changed so much yet and I and I feel, you know, you get all these other extra benefits.
If you’re good within yourself it improves your confidence because when you’re suffering pain it changes a lot of things that you do and how you see things. And I’m a person who likes to feel good inside, you know. And when things have improved and progressed I just feel really happy.

Before I booked I was thinking about things I already had going on, like travel plans I had and how I’d fit it in, and thought of maybe doing fewer sessions. And also financially - it wasn’t really an issue - but I was wondering, will it be worth it?
But you know, you can’t get done in 6 sessions what you can do in 12. So after I decided to go ahead with the full series and I was booked, I was looking forward to it. I enjoy that sort of thing and it’s a close examination of what’s connected to what. And I like doing new things.
Going through the series definitely made me more aware.
It was really interesting to be able to work with zones of the body and not the whole body all the time. But over time it was a full body experience.
We were able to hone in on specific things and give them a good amount of time and attention, and look at how it all fits together.

Some things were surprising, like for working on my hand you said you needed to work on my right side, and I learnt new things that I would never have thought about before, like breathing more into your back - how do you do that?
You’re very knowledgeable, you have a large body of knowledge and some things that were challenging - we found a way that I could connect to that concept.
And I could come here for an hour and a half and enjoy the process.

Doing the 12 sessions was of great benefit to my posture and since the series I have better movement in areas, like especially my feet. I think when you’ve got the building blocks you can address the bits that aren’t working.
Something that worked well for me was being able to see transitions and changes in the photos because it was directly comparative and I could see some things I might have missed-I could have done more of that!
And people also noticed the changes!
With each session I generally walked in feeling OK and I walked out feeling taller and lighter. After a good session I’d get in the car and physically adjust my seat because I’d feel taller.
I liked having the space between sessions - I did them fortnightly - to reflect and experiment and use some of the movement tips we went over. I found the space between sessions really good.
I’d recommend the 12 session series work - in fact I have recommended it to the people I know who would benefit.
